It is with great sadness that the family of Kevin Patrick Beatty, of Windham, announces his passing from complications of Parkinsons Disease, on April 27, 2018, at Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 16, 1951 in Portland to Patrick L. and Marilyn L. (Loveitt) Beatty.
Kevin graduated from Portland High School in 1969 and proudly served his country when he was drafted by the U.S. Army in 1971. Over the years, he worked at Parts Distributers, Casco Northern Bank, and the Walmart Parts Department until his retirement due to illness. He married Cynthia Lozier- Bonaventura on April 2, 1983 in Portland and became a devoted Step-Father to Tom, Jen and Mike.
Kevin always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. He was adored and loved by all who knew him. He was also very proud of his Irish Heritage.
Kevin enjoyed fly fishing, was an avid reader, loved cooking and enjoying good food (especially chocolate treats) with family and friends, and always had the latest technology. He was a faithful New England sports fan and also enjoyed watching and coaching his children’s sporting events.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark W. Beatty. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Cindy Beatty of Windham, ME; children, Thomas Bonaventura and his wife, Kathy of CT, Jennifer Bonaventura and her husband, Chad Casey of Hartford, ME, and Michael Bonaventura and his wife Hannah of Dayton, ME; sisters, Karen Beatty of Portland, Kimberly Stowell and her husband, Ralph of Portland, and Kathleen Baker and her husband, Tim of South Portland; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Violet Bonaventura and Alexis Casey; nephews, Joshua and Jordan Stowell; niece, Emily Baker; and one aunt, Catherine Goddard; and numerous other extended family members.
A very heartfelt thanks to all our family and friends who have provided support over the past few years. The family would also like to thank the staff at Mercy Hospital and Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough for their compassionate care.
